Visiting the Channel Islands |
| |
Situated 25 miles offshore, the USA's 40th
national park is comprised of five islands (Anacapa, Santa
Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, Santa Barbara) where native
plants, animals and sea-life thrive in a protected, remote
environment. Take a boat trip (see above)
from Santa Barbara Harbor to the Park, or out to the Santa
Barbara Channel to see migrating gray whales. |
| |
Channel Islands National
Park
 |
The National Park consists of
249,354 acres, half of which are under the ocean, and
include the islands of San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz,
Anacapa, and Santa Barbara. The islands' isolation has
left them relatively undeveloped, making them an exciting
place for visitors to explore. The islands can be reached
via boat trips from Santa Barbara Harbor. |
| |
Channel Islands National
Marine Sanctuary
 |
The Channel Islands National
Marine Sanctuary sponsors educational cruises into the
waters surrounding the Channel Islands during the summer. |
